Reading: Greedy Grey Octopus, Rainbow Fish Week of: May 18 – May 22 We’ve Been Busy! A Look at Next Week… This week in our Phonetic Connections curriculum, we focused on the /z/ sound. We practiced rhyming words, segmenting/blending, and writing and reading CVC words. We spent the week discussing science topics: volcanoes, space, matter, etc. In math, we finished up assessments and reviewed skills that we learned during our year in kindergarten. Reading: Greedy Grey Octopus, Rainbow Fish Phonics: Review Writing: Predictions, Opinions, etc. Unit Studies: Oceans Math: Review Important Dates Kindergarten Music Performance will be held at 9 am in the cafeteria on Friday, May 22, 2015. Following the performance, awards will be given out in each classroom. After lunch, K students will walk to Laurel Park for a play day. May 26th: NO SCHOOL (Memorial Day) May 28th: Mega Party for Fundraiser winners (rescheduled from May 15th) May 29th: Last Day of School This is our last newsletter for the 2014-2015 school year.
