Agenda: Rhetorical Device Quiz Read textbook chapter on pathos Evaluating pathos in ads and pop culture Evaluating pathos in Brave New World I can analyze how an author uses pathos to support his or her argument in a text

Rhetorical Device Quiz

Pathos Read the Thank You For Arguing chapter on Pathos. As you read, you should annotate and take notes, paying particular attention to the ways in which people create pathos in their arguments.

Pathos Look at the following examples, and discuss how they are using pathos to support the main argument. Remember: when you analyze pathos, you should always NAME the specific emotion that the audience is meant to feel. (Use your emotion wheel if you need help)
