I know what I’m trying to say, but how do I say it like an 8th grader? Revising a Claim I know what I’m trying to say, but how do I say it like an 8th grader?

Current Claim: Yes, students should have to wear uniforms. First Changes: Yes, Students should have to wear uniforms. Even Better: Wearing school uniforms will decrease violence in schools.

Current Claim: I think students should not have to wear uniforms. First Changes: I think Students should not have to wear uniforms because they will lose their individuality. Even Better: Requiring students to wear uniforms takes away the students’ individuality.

I have facts. That’s enough, right? Revising Evidence I have facts. That’s enough, right?

Current Evidence: Since 1994, school crime has decreased by 76% Current Evidence: Since 1994, school crime has decreased by 76%.
