A producer is an organism that gets its energy from the sun. Example: sunflower plant.
Decomposers are organisms that eat dead or decaying organisms. They carry out the natural process of decomposition. Fungi is the primary and most common.

Presentation transcript:

Instructions for Week #1 Data #1 Collect the following data in your field notebook: For the terrestrial organism and the aquatic organism: Record organism activity level (Are your organisms moving around the ecosystem or are they relatively immobile?). Record organism food consumption (Do your organisms appear to be eating? What are your organisms consuming?). If you have more than one organism in one of the levels, how well do these organisms appear to be interacting together? For the terrestrial plant and the aquatic plant: Plant Height (in cm) Plant Health (Is the plant thriving, dying, or already dead?) Have your terrestrial and/or aquatic organisms started to use these plants as a food source? How do you know?
