Step 2 - HIGHLIGHT ACCORDINGLY Pink- Hook Orange – Thesis/claim Yellow – Source #1 Green – Source #2 Blue - Counterclaim Share highlighters! If your marker is too dark, underline instead of highlight.

Step 3 - grading Evaluate the paper according to the rubric Provide a justification/explanation for each scoring (why did you give these scores? Sticky note 1: scores and explanation Sticky note 2: one compliment and one critique Turn the paper in to me

Rubric cheat sheet Purpose, Focus, Organization: 4 – engaging hook, strong claim, focused paragraphs, counterclaim acknowledged and refuted, strong conclusion 1 – no counterclaim, stance unclear, ideas don’t flow smoothly, too short Evidence & Elaboration: 4 – both sources used, cited properly, quotes embedded and fully explained, specific and detailed 1 – little, confusing, or inaccurate evidence, only used 1 or no sources to back up ideas Conventions: 2 – very few errors 1 – some errors 0 – errors impede understanding Sticky Note #1- Score and explanation PFO: EE: C: Sticky Note #2 One compliment One critique
