6-3 Rectangles Objectives: To recognize and apply the conditions that ensure a quadrilateral is a parallelogram.

Vocabulary Rectangle

Rectangle A rectangle is a quadrilateral with four right angles. Since a rectangle has opposite angles congruent, it must then be a parallelogram. It therefore has all the properties of a parallelogram.

Theorem 6-9 If a parallelogram is a rectangle, then its diagonals are congruent
