Step 1: answer the question. 1. Answer the question – be sure your answer RESTATES THE QUESTION STEM. Step 1: answer the question.

Step 2: cite your evidence 2. Cite your evidence. Tell what in the text led you to your answer. Paraphrase – put the information into your own words.. Quote directly from the text – you must use quotation marks! Sentence starters On page ___, it said… The text states...
