Annual Title I Parent PTP/Meeting: Ruby Duncan September 28th, 2016 3:30-4:30pm

What is Title I? Title I is a Federally funded academic assistance program for schools. The goal of Title I is to ensure high quality well-rounded education for every child.

ESsA For Schools, ESsA: For Parents, ESsA: For Students, ESsA: Ensures schools measure student progress using approved tests. Provides student progress reports to allow parents to learn how their child is performing according to grade-level academic standards. Sets high expectations for academic achievement.

ESSA For Schools, ESsA: For Parents, ESsA: For Students, ESsA: Ensures schools issue reports charting school performance. Provides school report cards to inform parents of how well their child’s school is performing. Requires yearly testing for Grades 3-8 and High School.

ESSA – 2016-2017 School Year For Schools, ESSA: For Parents, ESSA: For Students, ESSA: Provides teacher training and professional development to improve instruction. Provides information on the qualifications of their child’s teacher. Provides highly qualified teachers who use proven teaching methods.

The Title I Program: What does Title I provide at my child’s school? Funds are used for: Add additional information here from your school’s budget narrative Add additional slides as needed to fully cover your school’s use of your Title I funds

The Title I Program: (El Programa de Titulo I:) Parents and teachers work as a team to monitor each child’s progress and to support their academic and social growth. Parent workshops are provided in Math, Literacy and study skills. Books and materials are purchased that allow parents to assist their child with reading and math homework.

The Title I Program: What are the parents’ rights and responsibilities under Title I? The right to receive periodic progress reports on the child and the school. For 2016-2017 The right to request information about the qualifications of their child’s teacher.
