Discussing Relations and Indirect Characterizations Today, you and a partners will be tracking the interpersonal relationships between the main and secondary characters of Passing. You will also be discussing examples of indirect characterization for each main and secondary character.

Guidelines Characters to include: Irene, Clare, Brian, Jack Bellew, Gertrude, Brian Jr., and Ted. Indirect Characterization: Make a summative statement about each character AND base it off of their indirect characterizations. Provide ONE quote and ONE paraphrased example for each. Character Relations Create a “family tree” that demonstrates HOW they are related to each other (relations aren’t just blood) and their FEELINGS towards one another. JUSTIFY the relations with examples (NOT NECESSARILY QUOTES) from the text.
