Experiment Question How would people react to others getting hurt around them and whether the gender of the person would affect this reaction.

Experiment Design In this experiment, we tested the empathy and helpfulness of the students in the school. To do this we had a girl trip in different areas of the school and observed how others reacted. We repeated this but with a boy this time. We then compared the results of both experiments.

Variables Independent- Gender of the person falling. Dependent- Reaction/reaction time of the surrounding people. Confounding- How dramatic the fall was, how well the person was known, and age of the participants.

Conclusion The majority of people reacted faster to the girl falling as apposed to the boy falling. This maybe due to gender, or possibly due to the difference in how each participant portrayed the fall.

Hypothesis And Reaction In general, our hypothesis was generally supported. As more people responded and reacted faster to the girl. There was not much surprise to the results, but the reaction time to the boy falling was a little longer than anticipated.
