WELCOME TO kindergarten Mrs. Delia M Castro

Entering the Classroom Meet the teacher in the cover patio. Parents are not allowed in the classrooms. Walk in quietly and in line. Sit down quietly. Put papers found on your desk inside your backpacks. (Parents, please check backpacks daily)

Wait for the teacher to call to put backpacks and lunch boxes away. Back to your desk. Get your journal from the assigned place. Begin to work quietly and continue working.

RULES Follow directions the first time given. Stay in your seat. Raise your hand to speak and wait for approval. Signal and wait for approval before standing up. No toys, games, candies, or gums are allowed.

“BATHROOM” Signal Mrs. Castro. Wait for approval. Be brief- others are waiting to go. Wash your hands briefly. Get back to work quietly.

“When walking Out” Wait to be called. Put YOUR chair in. Walk quietly and stay in line quietly. Do not pass. Do not lag behind the rest. Line up in order with the class.

When lining up we recite this chant to make sure we are all ready to enter the hallway. I'm giving myself a great big hug,(fold arms across chest) I'm standing straight and tall, I'm looking right ahead of me, I'm ready for the hall.

Consequences… You will get a ticket if you break the rule…

Rewards and Consequences Students with 4 tickets will not receive a reward. Students with up to 3 tickets will receive a reward. Rewards consist of a prize or just the privilege of going to the play ground.

Improvement We want students to improve their behavior. Tickets will be removed as behavior improves.

Home Learning Home Learning pockets will be sent home the first day of the week. They are due first day of school the following week. Work with them little by little. It is for a whole week. Read to your child daily. At least half an hour daily.

Before start reading ask about the story you are going to read. For example: What do you think the story is going to be about? As you read stop once in a while to check for understanding. At the end, summarize. Ask; what happened first, second, and last.
