Learning Objective ELAGSE8L4: Determine or clarify the meaning of unknown and multiple-meaning words or phrases based on grade 8 reading and content, choosing flexibly from a range of strategies. Learning Target- Be able to explain the meaning of unknown words. Warm-up- Copy the two sentences and identify the sentence parts.

Opening- Grammar Review Whenever Raven gets a blemish on her nose, she always wears a Band-Aid to hide it, but it does not fool anyone. Adrian, running away from the neighbor’s dog, jumped the picnic table, dodged the sandbox, and flipped over the fence.
