Fig. 1 The distribution of quantitative QuantiFERON-TB Gold In-Tube (QFT) results among QFT positives in different age groups. The study participants with positive QFT results were classified into four groups by age group. The median value of the QFT quantitative result was insignificantly decreased associated with increasing age (a). Some data from our previous population-based study were re-analysed and QFT-positive participants were classified into seven groups according to age [5]. The median value of the QFT quantitative result presented a parabola-like distribution. The middle-aged groups showed a higher interferon-γ (IFN-γ) release compared with the younger and older groups (b). Supplementary Figure 1 The relation between alcohol drinking and mycobacterium tuberculosis (MTB) infection stratified by potential confounding factors.
