GIVE ME A RAIN CHECK  we would like to do it at another time in the future

rainy day  A FUTURE TIME OF NEED,ESP FIANCIAL

around the corner GOING TO HAPPEN VERY SOON

A: Lily! How are you, I heard you were sick? B: Oh, it was nothing much. I was off work for a couple of days with a cold, but I soon got better. I'm as right as rain now, thanks. A: That’s good. Since you are feeling better, would you like to go the party this Sunday? B: I'd love to go with you, Hans, but I'm busy that day. I hope you'll give me a raincheck. A: It’s ok. I heard you have received a bonus from your company. What do you plan to do with it? B: I decided to put the money in the bank for a rainy day when I really need it. Maybe I will spend it on Christmas gifts for my friends and family. Have you started your Christmas shopping yet? A: I don't focus on it until December. It's only after the big family dinner, the parades and football games are over that I can start thinking about buying gifts. By then, Christmas is right around the corner!
