TKAM Anticipatory Statements Please copy into the Writing Assignments section of your notebook.

You know the drill… With each of the following statements, move to the side of the room that correlates with your own personal belief/opinion. Nothing wishy-washy, in the middle. Rewrite each statement with your opinion combined, thus making a complete thesis statement.

All men are created equal.

No one is above the law.

Under our justice system, all citizens are treated fairly in our courts of law.

Things can’t always be the way we want them to be: that’s a part of growing up.

The way a person speaks reveals a great deal about that person.

Children should not be allowed to read about, watch, or listen to news reports or court cases that involve violence and/or rape.

Adults know more than children do.

The advantages of living in a small town are greater than life in a big city.
