Converting Rates When converting rates, we are not limited to the number of times we can multiply the rate by “one.”

Example A bullet is fired from a gun at a speed of 1500 feet per second. What is this speed in mph?

Example A skydiver falls at a speed of 87 feet per second. Convert this rate to yards per minute.
