Motivation If I could go back and teach 7th and 8th grade English language arts, I would incorporate my passions: Traveling—include titles from France 2016; incorporate travel writing as well Reading—more multicultural literature Cooking—include recipes from my travels Walking—Genius Hour group walks

Goal I would love to use student-designed passion projects in middle school (adapted from our EDUC 463 yearlong plans). As scary as it may seem at first, I would like to try allowing students to read different multicultural texts, using book clubs similar to those we are using in my current graduate course (E 632).
