Writing Linear Equations If we remember back to what we just did in Section 3, we remember all we need is a slope and y-intercept to have a linear equation. EX 1: Write an equation in slope-intercept form for a line with a slope of -3/4 and a y-intercept of 7.

What if the Slope is Missing? Even if we’re not given a slope, we can still use the slope-intercept form to come up with an equation. EX 2: Write an equation in slope-intercept form for a line that passes through the point (-3,-6) and has a y-intercept of -2.
