11th Grade capstone project Ms. Treto

Overview 11th Grade – Prototype take research log from 10th grade and write rough draft of background research paper on product/experiment (individual – at least 1,200 words). Must be typed, double spaced, sources sited APA on last page, include a cover page rough draft of abstract – 250 to 300 words. revised drawing/rendering of product (individual or up to three in a group) produce initial prototype (not all students will have a prototype - individual or up to three)

Sample Abstract Template Title Name School Purpose of project / experiment: An introductory statement of the reason for creating or modifying the product. Summarize procedures, emphasizing the key points or steps: A summarization of the key points and an overview of how the product would be created or modified. Include details about the materials used especially if it is important to the design. An abstract should only include procedures done by the student. Work done by a mentor (such as surgical procedures) or work done prior to student involvement must not be included. Detail in a brief and clearly expressed manner application/data Application – target audience, how would it impact. Testing - data. Conclusion. 250 – 300 words max.
