10/1 Do Now Don’t forget, your study guide is due tomorrow! Jackie wants to earn money selling bracelets. She buys a bracelet starter kit for $17. She plans to charge $3 for each bracelet she sells. Write an equation for profit. Use method 1 to change the equation into slope-intercept form: -2x + 5y= -20 [Solve for y] What is the difference of (8x –4p) and (3x + 2p)? What is the range of the function?

Graphing a Line Knowing a Point & Slope Given that the line l has a slope of 4/3 and contains the point (2, -1), graph the line. Steps: Plot the point (2,-1) on the coordinate plane From the point (2, -1), use the slope to create another point. [Go up 4, right 3] Connect the points to create your line. Challenge: Can you write an equation for the line? y=mx + b

Now You Try! (5, -2), m=1/3 (3,0), m=-1/2 (4, -3), m=2/3 You must graph all 4 If you finish early, try to write an equation for the line (5, -2), m=1/3 (3,0), m=-1/2 (4, -3), m=2/3 (-1, 5), m=2/5

EOC Practice #1 Chase and Leslie are playing a game. Chase and Leslie each started with 100 points. At the end of each turn, Chase’s points doubled. At the end of each turn, Leslie’s points increased by 200. At the start of which turn will Carlos have more points than Leslie?

EOC Practice #2 There were originally 4 trees in the orchard. Each year the owner planted the same number of trees. In the 29th year, there were 178 trees. Which function can be used to determine the number of trees in any year, n? (Hint: try to write 2 ordered pairs & find the slope) t(n)= 178n + 4 t(n)= 29n + 4 t(n)= 6n + 4 t(n)= 29n – 4

EOC Practice #3 1.1 weeks 1.7 weeks 8 weeks 12 weeks Lucy and Barb began saving money the same week. The table below shows the models for the amount of money they saved after x weeks. After how many weeks will Lucy and Barb have the same amount of money? 1.1 weeks 1.7 weeks 8 weeks 12 weeks Lucy’s Savings f(x)= 10x + 5 Barb’s Savings G(x)= 7.5x + 25

What questions do you have on your study guide? Let’s take 5 minutes and go over any questions you have left on your study guide Remember that it is due tomorrow Your Unit 1 test is next Friday (10/9)
