Volume 156, Issue 5, Pages 1228-1231 (April 2019) Will a Proton Pump Inhibitor and an Aspirin Keep the Doctor Away for Patients With Barrett’s Esophagus?  Rebecca C. Fitzgerald  Gastroenterology  Volume 156, Issue 5, Pages 1228-1231 (April 2019) DOI: 10.1053/j.gastro.2019.03.001 Copyright © 2019 AGA Institute Terms and Conditions

Figure 1 A hypothetical approach to screening, diagnosis, and intervention for the management of Barrett’s esophagus (BE). Primary care screening would identify patients for endoscopy referral. A BE diagnosis, along with molecular profiling and clinical factors, would allow stratification into low-risk or high-risk groups, which would have distinct intervention approaches. BMI, body mass index; GERD, gastroesophageal reflux disease; PPI, proton pump inhibitor.
