Welcome to 10th Grade Honors English Emily Connolly Room 1464

Who am I? Emily Connolly BA in English Literature from California Polytechnic State University San Luis Obispo Teaching Credential from Azusa Pacific University Masters in Digital Teaching and Technology from Azusa Pacific University Literature nerd and proud! I love horses, my two dogs Max and Brooklyn, reading and traveling.

Required Materials Pens Pencils Highlighters Paper= College Ruled loose leaf A binder dedicated solely to English Chromebook Computer (charged and ready to go EVERY DAY)

Classroom Expectations When students come into class they should: Be in their assigned seat, ready to work when the bell rings. Be prepared with the required materials for that day, including any novels we may be reading in class. Work actively and respectfully with their seat partner or group members when instructed to do so by the teacher. Have their Chromebook closed and powered down unless otherwise instructed. Treat others with respect. Be active!

Discipline Procedures Students who do not act appropriately will be faced with the following: Verbal Warning Teacher Assigned Detention 1st Referral to the Vice Principle and a call home 2nd Referral to the Vice Principle and removal from the class **Any time a student poses a safety threat or demonstrates severe misconduct they will be directly referred to the Vice Principle**

* You may check your child’s grade at any time on Infinite Campus! * Grading Policy This class is on a points-based grading system. For each assignment turned in, your student earns points which contribute to their overall grade. At the end of the semester, the amount of points earned in comparison to the total points available determines your student’s grade in the class. The breakdown is as follows: A= 90-100% B= 80-89% C= 70-79% D= 60-69% F= Below 60% * You may check your child’s grade at any time on Infinite Campus! *
