Unit aims This unit aims to enable you as students to develop an understanding of the ageing process and how health and social care settings work in partnership to promote and maintain the independence and well being of older people.

P1 Tips – Deadline Friday 14th of March 2014 @4pm reception In order to achieve P1, you will need to create a news report explaining the theories of ageing.

P1 Tips – Deadline Friday 14th of March 2014 @4pm reception You will need to include within your news report the following theories: Disengagement theory, Activity theory, Social creation of dependency, Disposable soma theory, Genetically programmed theory, Gender differences.

P2 Tips – Deadline Friday 14th of March 2014 @4pm reception In order to achieve P2, you will need to create a Q&A document which explains the various factors which can influence ageing in a general context.
