Combine Test Beam 2004 SCT Modules in Space Draft Peter Kodyš

Introduction Method Main idea: To use SCT end cap outer modules in position of barrels in x axis. Method Model is written in ROOT program as 3D Program is fully independent of Athena environment Standard databases is not used but it is possible to connect to it (not useful now) This is a way how to compare the right setting of geometry in Athena Model contain tools for simple digitization, clustering, residual histograms Changes of geometry or module type are possible and simple Source code is available on the web: http://www.ific.es/~kodys/Simulation/SCTInSpace/SCTInSpace.zip

Space Setting Modules are in pairs with following setting (next page in graphics): Distance in x (beam direction): 0 (Target), 300 1.pair, 373 2.pair, 447 3.pair, 520 4.pair (in mm) Shift in y (vertical): Lower module: –29.13mm, upper module: +27.41mm Rotations: Upper module in angle 10deg in rot axes z (horizontal) Lower module in angle 20deg in rot axes z (horizontal) Upper module in angle – 2.403deg in rot axes x (beam direction) Lower module in angle – 4.695deg in rot axes x (beam direction) Occupated space: 248 x 136 x 170 mm

Basic Views X axis point 0 (red line) is shifted 400mm from target

Details In Beam Intersection Point Parallel beam in mid of detector pair Detail on top view, red circle check M0 chip and direction of power kaptons to hybrid Parallel first and last strip (like barrel) in overlap 3 mm

Examples Of Histograms Histogram of hits in module pair (hitmap) Space residuals on left and right module in pair (different accident angle) Eta and residuals on detectors in pair, to confirm good statistics

Concusions From Pre-Simulations Left side for module tilted 10deg: space residuals moving in y: -0.04 mm in z: 4.1 mm Right side for module tilted 20deg: space residuals moving in y: -0.2 mm in z: 8 mm Impossible to use simple spacing from crosing strips in module Link alignment using in TestBeam1999-2003 needed 20deg titling module will be good example how we eliminate spacing error

Simulations - Status Carlos Escobar: GeoModule visualization of components for checking geometry Gean4 examples Zdenka Broklova: Geant4 examples with joining to digitization Format of data checking Peter Kodys: Instalation of last versions of ATHENA modules (thanks Pavel Reznicek) GeoModule examples (thanks Grant Gorfine, Thijs) NOVA database checking of SCT code (nonactual version) (thanks Sasha Rozanov, Pavel Nevski) NOVA database write new current version of SCT geometry, update olders NOVA database – prepare combine test beam geometry for SCT non ATHENA software: make arrangement of CTB in 3D, pre-simulation of tracking, residuals
