Any questions about items not addressed? Syllabus Key Points Grading Exam information Submission Policies Integrity Any questions about items not addressed?

AP Central and class website For this activity, you will either need a smart phone or a partner with a smart phone. BOOKMARK IT! These are valuable resources that you will want to be familiar with and refer to throughout the year.

Weebly discussion boards As we move into our curriculum, more discussion than we have time for will be necessary for an enriching experience. To make up for this lack of face time, you will contribute weekly to a class discussion board on Weebly.

Weebly discussion boards Although directions are posted for you with each prompt, the format will not vary. Every other week you will be asked to post an original response and comment on the posts of your peers. Length will be determined by the prompt.

How are they graded? As clarified in your syllabus, I am looking for insight and deep thought, not regurgitation of information or simple agreement or disagreement. Your contribution is worth 25 points: 20 for your original post and 5 each for insightful responses to peers. Contributions must be your original thoughts, unless quotations are called for, and I do take proper grammar and style into account when I grade.

First prompt: pop culture We begin our first unit on Monday, and this weekend’s prompt will inform that discussion.

Homework Respond thoughtfully to the prompt and at least one peer. You can agree/disagree and articulate why, add onto something they’ve said, pose a relevant question, etc. Don’t be a parrot! (birds are filthy creatures.) Set up binder. Start Summer Reading Response. Set up Remind101 app and join the class.
