1450-1650

1450- 1650

1650- 1789

1650- 1789

1650- 1789

1789- 1900 Hmm…there is honestly too much to summarize in a few pictures

The World since 1900 What pictures would you have picked for this:

Knowledge is essential The Course Breakdown B. Content Lecture driven, supported by readings, applied through seminars- make sense? Knowledge is essential We are going to cover a very large amount of material within a large time period but doing it rather fast…got that

The Course Breakdown C. Assignments Reading Questions/Assessments- completion and analysis Mini-Essays (and the process of them)- argumentative, supported by research (secondary) Seminars- as lead and participants Major Essay and defence (more on this later) Unit Tests *Participation

The Course Breakdown Communicate constantly Read everything- take notes Pay attention during lectures- TAKE NOTES- and then review the daily work as often as you have time for Make sure you are aware of the expectations of assignments- got some questions…ask

Thematic History The West and the Rest- Niall Ferguson Class Struggle- Marx Clash of cultures- Samuel Huntington Guns, Germs and Steel and Environmental Collapse- Jared Diamond

So Now What? If History is accessible to the masses on any level it is when asking controversial question….and using LISTS! Get together- The Top Ten Most SIGNIFICANT historical moments of all time Be prepared to defend your selections….
