Bell Ringer: Monday, 8/26 1) neither rasheed or larry dont want their teams loss to suggest that team members didnt play good 2) mr. kato explained that because the rule does not effect the entire school but only individual students as a result of that rule the student handbook was changed

Daily Agenda: -20 minutes to finish “The World on the Turtle’s Back” questions & turn them in! (1/2 credit tomorrow only) -Issue textbooks. . . Don’t lose these! They’re over $65 to replace! Sign extra credit hall passes. Open-house tonight. . .

Application: Due: Tuesday, 8/27 at the beginning of class “Description of Rites” Due: Tuesday, 8/27 at the beginning of class Think about a ceremony that is familiar to you, such as graduation, wedding, or coming-of-age ceremony, and write a one page detailed description of it for someone who has never seen it before. Explain any symbolic actions, garments, or colors associated with the ceremony. Do include: imagery (choosy diction) , a variety of sentence structures, and specific details. Do not include: linking verbs, boring “filler” words.
