Problems in Cuba before 1959 In your group, use the facts about Cuba to prove each of the claims provided. Be sure to pick the very best pieces of evidence!

Americans, not Cubans, received most of the profits from Cuban businesses

Education was a problem in Cuba, specifically in the rural areas.

The homes of most peasants were very poor.

There was an extremely wide gap between the rich and the poor.

Many Cubans had no access to healthcare.

Rural Cubans did not have access to basic amenities that urban Cubans took for granted.

Unemployment was extremely high in Cuba.

The government was not serving the interests of the people, but making the officials wealthy instead.
