The seed

Differences in encounters with Gabriel So what we need to do is recognize that the difference between the two messages is that the angel was not asking Zechariah to truly do anything but accept and celebrate. The spirit was going to do it all.though with Mary as a God fearing women she needed to be assured The word virgin- why was the angel so accepting of Mary’s question and not of Zechariah’s doubt? ? 1. Zechariah-was not asked by the angel to sin 2. Mary-was asked by the angel to step into something different than Zechariah

Mary Two similar messages Zechariah The angel Both were concerning a birth Both were concerning a birth of fulfillment Both were concerning a birth of hope Both were bridging a gap between the OT and the NT Zechariah Mary Two similar messages Was given a message fulfilling a promise Was told a very concerning message

Gabriel brought a message that represented a miracle The seed / the message A miracle/a word from the Lord/ a call from God Gabriel brought a message that represented a miracle

A call from God will never require us to step into sin

The angel’s grace towards Mary. Centered on the WORD virgin The reason Mary asked was that she was a virgin and in order to have a child there had to be the act of sex. She was highly favored and would only She is the only women in the New Testament that receive the words highly favored when describing her. So she was unique and holds a very unique title. This would have had to been discussed. Because in our humanness we know the God established sex to be an act between a married man and women. She was bethroed to be married but as in the one year mandatory awaiting period for this to happen. This was a healthy dialogue and was different from the previous

The news The acceptance The response The angel brought news Mary responded to it only to establish that she was a virgin. She was virtuous it was a clarification of whether or not she was being asked to go against God an sin once she was told that it would be a miracle she fully accepted. God never calls us into sin The response The acceptance

By this response Mary was communicating 6 things By this response Mary was communicating 6 things. These are 6 things that we as people should be communicating when we hear a word from the Lord Mary said, “I am the servant of the Lord; let it be to me according to your WORD”

all that God found to be perfect 4. THE COMMAND all that God decreed all that God expected all that God found to be perfect all that God required the subject to obey Meaning if it were to work out the receiver had to follow the command

6. THE TEACHING FROM THE WORD A WORD FROM A COMPLETE BEING THIS WAS NOT MNY WORDS. SEE IT WAS JESUS JESUS ABOUT ONE WORD

WHAT IS GOD’S CHARGE IN YOUR LIFE? WHAT HAS GOD SPOKEN TO YOU IN THE PAST THAT HE DESIRES TO BRING OUT IN YOU NOW? WHAT HAS HE PROMISED YOU? WHAT IS HE COMMANDING FROM YOU? THIS WAS NOT MNY WORDS. SEE IT WAS JESUS JESUS ABOUT ONE WORD

WHAT COMMAND AND TEACHING IS HE WAITING FOR YOU TO RECEIVE SO THAT HIS SINGULAR WORD CAN COME TO BE IN YOUR LIFE JUST AS IT WAS IN MARY’S LIFE? THIS WAS NOT MNY WORDS. SEE IT WAS JESUS JESUS ABOUT ONE WORD
