Japan During the Depression Japanese were frustrated with their government. Military leaders rose to power Japan attacked Manchuria, China in 1931 3 Years later Japan joined an Alliance known as the Axis with Germany and Italy

Germany On the March Hitler began to rebuild Germany’s military strength This defied the Treaty Of Versailles Hitler formed an alliance with Italy in 1936

Germany On the March In 1936, Hitler began moving troops into the Rhineland. The Rhineland was a small territory that separated France and Germany and was supposed to remain Neutral per the treaty that ended WW1. Next Hitler, Annexed Austria. In 1938, he wanted to Annex The Sudetenland

Munich Conference Czechoslovakia was prepared to fight to keep the Sudetenland. Great Britain and France wanted to avoid war. They adopted a policy known as appeasement, which was accepting Germany’s Demands. Hitler and Germany were given the Sudetenland

1939 The hope for peace was shattered in 1939. Hitler Seized the rest of Czechoslovakia. Hitler and Stalin signed the Soviet- German Non-Aggression Pact Hitler and Stalin were bitter enemies This treaty shocked the world Hitler could now invade Poland without fear of Russian interference.
