Rule #8 Consistent Verb Tense

Be Consistent!! Do not change from one verb tense to another if the time frame does not change. I sat at the table and eat the cookies. This sounds awkward!!! I sat at the table and ate the cookies. (correct) I sit at the table and eat the cookies. (correct)
