CLEP **Click anywhere to begin** What is it anyway? What should I know about it? 5 for 5: Watch 5 slides for 5 minutes to find out!

What is CLEP? Benefits? College Level Examination Program Show basic college level proficiency in a subject area. Earn college credit. Finish college early or have time for other classes.

Which Test should I take? Generally, you should have completed a PCH course with a B or better. The following have been successfully completed by PCH students: After US History 8 Early American History After 11th Grade Biology Biology After 11th Grade Chemistry Chemistry After 11/12th Psychology Psychology After 12th Grade Government American Government After 12th Grade Economics Micro or Macro Economics How Do I prepare? Purchase/borrow CLEP book to review or find an online tutorial. Take sample test, correct it, review questions you were unsure of or that were incorrect. Review the study guide. Take another sample test…and another if available. How Much Does it Cost? College Board Fee: Approx. $85 Administration fee (to the site that administers the test): $20-30

Which schools accept clep credit? Each college has its own guidelines – check with the college(s) you hope to attend. The College Board website has a place to enter a college name and view their policy: clep.collegeboard.org. Where can I take the clep test? Generally at local colleges. KVCC, GRCC and Davenport are test centers. It is a 90 minute multiple choice test. May I retake the CLEP? Yes, see the CLEP website for details. You will likely be required to wait six months before trying again and will be required to pay the fee again. These tests can be taken throughout high school and college years as long as it is before taking the comparable college course. How Do I sign up? Visit the College Board website: clep.collegeboard.org for minimum score and credits they will award.
