1. Location – where is something located? a. Absolute Location: pinpoint exact coordinates on a globe or a specific address b. Relative Location: location in relation to a known object. (Our school is south of the lake.)

2. Place – What is it like there? Human Characteristics: Buildings, culture, food, clothing, language, religion Physical Characteristics: Physical features such as climate, plants, animals. . . Click on pic

3. Human Environment Interaction How humans interact / adapt with the environment. A. Positive interactions: reduce, reuse & recycle B. Negative interactions: pollution, & deforestation C. Adaptations: air conditioning & sea walls

4. Movement The moving of people, goods, and ideas from 1 place to another a. People: planes, trains, cars b. Goods: trucks, boats, planes c. Ideas: computers, mail, phones

5. Regions An area that shares common characteristics A. Physical Regions: similar landforms, climate, resources, vegetation B. Human Regions: similar cultures, religions, industries, etc.
