Quadrilaterals Sec 12 – 1D pg. 687 - 692

Quadrilaterals Quadrilateral has four sides and four angles. The sum of the measures of the angles of a quadrilateral is 360. 97 83 x A C H J 97 + 83 + 97 + x = 360 277 + x = 360 -277 = -277 x = 83

Quadrilaterals - Parallelograms Opposite sides are congruent Opposite sides are parallel Opposite angles are congruent

Quadrilateral - Rectangle Opposite sides congruent Opposite sides parallel All angles are right angles

Quadrilateral - Square All sides congruent Opposite sides parallel All angles are right angles

Quadrilateral - Rhombus All sides congruent Opposite sides parallel Opposite angles congruent

Quadrilateral - Trapezoid Exactly one pair of opposite sides are parallel.
