Columnist Project Friday—1st (cow)—3rd and 6th—new lab Monday—1st, 3rd, 6th—new lab Task one—Biography Task two—Analysis of Three Columns/Same Columnist/ Similar topics This task asks you to detail the resources of language/classic appeals used by your columnist. Typed study text approach. Task three—Depth Analysis of One Column This is your argument about the strength of your columnist’s argument. Is the original column’s argument sound and convincing? (You may synthesize the original source with the two other, outside sources to make your argument) Task four—Reflection This is your chance to tell me how you felt about this assignment. Writing a Synthesis Argument Pretend you are a fellow columnist responding to an argument (column) of choice from your task #1 columnist. Defend, challenge, or qualify one (column) argument made by your chosen columnist. Synthesize from that original column, as well as at least two other sources, as you make YOUR ARGUMENT.
