All animals and plants have adaptations that help them survive in their environment. Examples of Plant Adaptations: Support/food storage: Above ground.
Introduction to Plants. What is a Plant? Plants provide the base for the food chain Multicellular eukaryotes that have a cell wall made of cellulose Carry.
How do we classify Plants? 5 th Grade. Scientists study what is INSIDE plants to divide them into 2 groups. What are these 2 groups called? 1) Vascular.
Plants. Plant Cells Cell walls  provide protection and structure Conduct photosynthesis – Use chlorophyll in organelle chloroplast to do it.

9-1 Self Check p. 245

#1 Eukaryotic cells with cell walls Pigments for photosynthesis Most have roots, stems, and leaves #1

Both vascular and nonvascular plants are eukaryotic cells with cells walls and also carry out photosynthesis. Vascular plants have tubelike structures to carry materials, while nonvascular plants do not. #2

Adaptations for plants to live on land include: cuticle, vascular tissue, and seeds. #3

It gives every living species, including plants, a unique two-word name. #4

The grass might die. Light is needed for photosynthesis. #5

Possible answers: A thicker cuticle or a system for pumping water from the cells could be needed. Some might have a long stem to raise leaves above the water. #6
