Bank Place where people deposits money. Ex: My mom has a bank account. Wilmington Trust is a bank. The thief stole money from the bank. Wilmington Trust

Barber shop Place where you can get a haircut. Ex: Peter works at the barber shop. My mom went to the barber shop. The barber shop is closed.

Bus stop Place where the school bus stops Ex: The bus stop is at the corner of the street My friends and I meet at the bus stop every morning.

Church Place where you go to pray. Ex: My family and I go to church on Sundays. I sing for the church chorus.

Coffee shop Place where you can enjoy different flavors of coffee. Ex: Starbucks is a coffee shop. My friend Amy went to the coffee shop and bought a latte.

Fire station Place where you can find fire fighters and fire trucks. Ex: The fire fighters quickly report to the fire station when there is a fire.

Furniture Store Place where you can buy furniture like sofas, couches, chairs, etc. Ex: My mom bought the new dining room at the furniture store.

Gas Station Place where you can buy gas for your car. Ex: Cathy works at the gas station. My brother went to the gas station to put gas in his car.

Gym Place where you can exercise. It has a lot of exercising equipment. Ex: I go to the gym every day. The gym teacher is very nice.

Hospital Place where you go when there is an emergency or you are sick. Ex: The ambulance took the patient to the hospital. The sick girl was taken to the hospital.

Park Place where you go to relax, has a lot of grass and trees. Ex: My friends and I play soccer at the park. The park is a relaxing place.

Pet shop Place where you can buy a pet like dogs or cats. Ex: My dad bought me a dog from the pet shop. I went to the pet shop to buy some dog food.

Playground Place where you can play with your friends. Ex: My elementary school had a nice playground. During recess, we use to play in the playground.

Police station Place where you can find policemen and police cars. Ex: The police station was busy during the shootings. The police car went to the police station.

Post office Place where you can mail a letter or buy stamps. Ex: The Post office was closed. The letter arrived to the Post Office. I bought some stamps at the Post Office.

Restaurant Place where you can buy something to eat Ex: My favorite restaurant is Applebee's. The food in that restaurant was delicious.

School Place where students go to learn and to meet new friends. Ex: I go to school in the mornings. I have several teachers in the school. My friends also go to school.

Supermarket Place where you can buy groceries and other household items. Ex: My family went to the supermarket on Friday. Wal-Mart is a supermarket.

Swimming pool Place where you can swim. Ex: During summer time I went to the swimming pool. The swimming pool is closed at night.

Temple Place where you can pray. Ex: The temple is open on Sundays. The temple is located on Main Street.

Toy store Place where you can buy toys for kids. Ex: My dad went to the toy store and bought some toys for my birthday. The toy store is colorful.

Zoo Place where you can visit animals from different places of the world. Ex: The zoo is one of my favorite places. The elephant was the main attraction at the zoo.

Airport Place where the airplanes land and depart. Ex: I went to the airport to pick up my sister. The airport was closed due to the weather.

Ice cream shop Place where you can buy different flavors of ice cream. Ex: I went to the ice cream store and got a Blizzard. If I finish my homework, I will go to the ice cream shop.

Jewelry store Place where you can buy necklaces, rings, bracelets and other pieces of jewelry. Ex: The jewelry store has a huge sale. The diamond ring was stolen from the jewelry store.

Movie theater Place where you can watch movies and eat popcorn. Ex: The movie theater has a huge screen. I bought some popcorn at the movie theater.
