ETHICS IN RESEARCH

1. Investigators should inform participants of all features of the research that might influence their willingness to participate.

2. There should be openness and honesty between investigator and participants. Reasons for concealment or deception should be given.

3. Participants are free to back out at any time.

4. The responsibilities of investigator and participants should be made clear from the beginning.

5. The investigator should protect participants from physical and mental discomfort, harm and danger. Participants should be informed of any risk. All measures should be taken to minimize distress.
