Lets make a “T” diagram and list the differences between the two. RNA vs. DNA Lets make a “T” diagram and list the differences between the two. Written and produced by the great one himself: Mr. West

DNA RNA DNA vs. RNA deoxyribose sugar nitrogen bases double stranded G, C, A, T T = thymine T : A C : G double stranded RNA ribose sugar nitrogen bases G, C, A, U U = uracil U : A C : G single stranded

Is Uracil a purine or pyrmidine? Who says Purine? Who says Pyrmidine?

The answer is: PYRIMIDINE Why? Because the “T” in DNA was replaced with “U” in RNA. Since “T” in DNA is a Pyrimidine, “U” has to be a Pyrimidine.
