”A Secondary school for everyone” Malin Bostedt- Study coach in the project ” A Secondary School to everyone”
Background The Swedish National Association for Social and Mental Health (RSMH) started the project Youth as a Resource in the Labour Market, also called as Unga som resurs i arbetslivet in swedish. The project had financial support from the Swedish Inheritance Fund and based on Supported Education. We started to cooperate with Hedbergska and offer a study techniques course. The students was satisfied and after that we applied for a project ” A secondary school for everyone” with financial support from The National Agency for Special Needs Education and Schools SPSM. We continue to support the students from the first project in this new project which started in january 2017.
Supported Education Preparation for Education ( In this phase we’re working a lot with motivation, dreams, to handle stress, recovery and which stategies the student using right now in the study situation. The students we supporting in this phase need to make a decision if they want to study or not and also if they want to live. Some people we have meet have thinking about suicide. Choosing an Education( The student need to make decisions and choose which support they need. For example, the student can choose to make contact with the student health service, the study coach, child- and adolcent phyciatrics, dependants or other relevant actors. Planning an Education( This is about to find and get the support which the student had decided to carry- out an Education. For example, support from relatives, the studycoach, The Student health service and so on.) Carry-out an Education (develope skills and strategies , participate and have influence over the process and reach the goals. Evaluate/Complete( Follow ups, identify future needs of support and offer support so the student can complete the Education)
How we work The support is not time- limited Participation in the own process is the most important Focus on financing The support is based on the students needs and wishes

Summarization of mapping results in orientation and planning When we are done with the mapping- we creating an individual planning and this is based on the students needs and wishes. If we see that the student has special needs, we use this mapping as a starting point for which support the student can get from the Student health service and teachers. We make Follow- ups about two times at one semester.
