What are the optimal conditions for protein function? Proteins have an optimum working temperature and pH. Above this optimum temperature or at the wrong pH the proteins will be denatured.

What are the differences between fibrous and globular proteins?

What are the differences between fibrous and globular proteins? Fibrous proteins such as collagen are structural and do not dissolve in water. Globular proteins are more likely to dissolve in water to their hydrophilic properties these include enzymes such as amylase.

Proteins are said to be universal All amino acids are the same for all organisms. And therefore amino acids and proteins are said to be universal. However, each organism has a unique genetic code (genome) and as a result has a unique proteome- the proteome is the sum of all the proteins produced by an organism.

Implications of proteomics Proteomics is the science that studies the proteome. It can be very useful to know the structure of a persons proteome, but there also negative implications of this knowledge. Discuss the implications of proteomics
