#4 Journal 8/20 Describe the image. Respond to it. What inferences can you make about it? Remember, write for ten minutes and fill the page. 

#5 The Stranger in the Photo is me 8/20 1. Describe one of the arguments made by the text. 2. Choose a particularly powerful line in the text. Copy your line. What is powerful about it? How does it relate to your answer to #1? 3. What makes this a powerful personal essay? Consider what the author uses to express his ideas- diction, syntax, detail, etc. 4. How much of the essay matched or confirmed your initial impressions of the photograph?

College Essay Assignment Sheet and Rubric. First Draft due Thursday, August 28. Does not have to be typed but must be complete. Final Draft due Thursday Sept 4.
