Good Morning ! Here’s your warm up.

How do you think you would add or subtract negative decimals and positive decimals? Write your response.

Guided practice 1.) -1/4 + -2/3 Look at the signs of the fractions. Are they same or different? What do we do when we have the same signs on an addition problem? Same signs add and keep! So all you do is add the fractions like we learned last week and keep the sign since the signs are the same.

Decimals are the same way! Example 2: -9.31 + 3.41 Look at the signs. Are they the same or different? Different signs subtract and use the sign of the larger number. 9.31- 3.41= 5.90 Which number is higher? So your answer is -5.90!
