Topic: The “Lost” Cause Mike McCabe

Thesis Statement Although the Union won the Civil War, it was merely a battle in the longer war of perception that raged between the North and the South long after the final shots rang out in the Civil War. And unlike the Civil War, the South would win this War for nearly 100 years.

Body Paragraph 1 Point/Evidence: The Definition of “Lost Cause” Analysis: The Lost Cause was the systematic attempt by the South to change the perception of the war in its aftermath.
