Sightings of the Monster The Loch Ness Monster was first sighted in the early 1930’s when a Scottish man and his wife were driving home. He looked into Lake Loch and found a monster. Thus the name Loch Ness Monster. Since then the Loch Ness Monster was sighted several other times. The 1960’s is when Loch Ness got real popular when a scientist takes the legend a lot more seriously.
