What is this conflict? World War One “The War to End All Wars”

Why was World War One… …called “The War to End All Wars”? What is the point of war? Are there any benefits? Drawbacks? Is there ever a time when war is ok?

Research and Teach In groups, consider the following principles and ideas: Mutually Assured Destruction (MAD) Walk softly and carry a big stick Rationalism in international policy Genocide/Crimes against humanity Tell the class: What is it? What does it have to do with war? What is an example of this in the real world? Is it a positive or negative thing towards humanity?
