Shells Part 4

Daily Objective There is great diversity among shells.

Vocabulary Dark – not light in color; blackish Different – not alike or not the same Large – big in size or amount Light – helps us to see Same – alike; not different Sea animal – an animal that lives in the sea Small – not large

Introduction Can you tell where these shells might have came from? Do you think these shells might have come from different animals? Today we are going to observe shells and group them in some way.

Observation and Discussion Once you have 20 shells begin sorting them in different ways. Can you find two that look alike? Can you find two shells that came from different kinds of snails? Are any of the shells like the lands snails and water snails you observed? Can you find any shells that you think came from sea animals other than snails?
