Thurs., Oct 4: Progress Reports sent home Classroom News We have spent the first couple weeks getting to know each other and practicing our procedures and routines. While we will continue to discuss and practice the routines, we are starting to dive into our curriculum. You will begin to see some of our classroom work coming home soon. While first grade work is not ‘graded’ I do look at the work to see how each student is progressing with the content. Typically I will mark them in a couple different ways. A star on the paper means everything (or mostly everything) is correct. A smiley face means a few things were incorrect but for the most part it looks good. A check mark means your child made quite a few errors (which will be marked) and needs more practice with the content. While you are looking through these papers you can work with him/her on these areas.
