Sketchbook expectations How to get good marks

Targets Targets for each unit of work will be available on my website. Cut them out neatly, and stick them near the start of the unit. Read them so you understand what you need to be doing – and prepare for whats coming next! Complete them as you work through the unit

Sketchbook pages…. Should be colourful….decorate them with thin washes of colour, use different papers – experiment! Should always have a title, and a date. Should NEVER have unused space, or whole blank pages!

Pictures should be…. Cut out and labeled and stuck in neatly! – you should be able to operate a pair of scissors! Find pictures of things that we have been discussing in class – do this on your own!

Questions should be… Answered in full sentences! Written in your sketchbooks – not on paper and stuck in later If you don’t know the answers….speak to your friends or ask me, don’t just guess!

Drawing and painting Drawings should use up any blank spaces – if I ask you to fill a page, make sure your drawings are big enough If I ask you to colour something, make it colourful! Take your time!

Make your sketchbooks…. Like works of art that you keep adding too….they should keep getting better and better the more your work in them – like a painting that is growing! Make them beautiful! Be creative!
