To present a poem to the class Lesson Objective To present a poem to the class

TASK Choose your favourite poem from your own anthology. Practice reciting your poem in a dramatic way. You will also need to explain why you have chosen your particular poem, explaining how or why you wrote it the way you did. Each person will present one poem to the class, which will be formally assessed.

How you will be assessed Level 2 You can hold the attention of your listener in a simple way. You show that you are aware of the task and your audience by choosing your words carefully.

How you will be assessed Level 4 You express straightforward ideas and feelings using relevant details You organise your talk to help the listener understand your ideas You vary your word choices and non –verbal features to suit your audience and the task.

How you will be assessed Level 6 You can explore complicated ideas and feelings in a range of ways. You maintain and control the organisation of your talk to guide your listener through your ideas. You can adapt your vocabulary and non-verbal features.
